Kryptoměna
Kryptoměna, or cryptocurrency, is a digital or virtual form of currency that uses cryptography for security. Unlike traditional currencies issued by governments (fiat money), cryptocurrencies are typically decentralized and built on blockchain technology, which is a distributed ledger enforced by a network of computers (nodes). This decentralization makes cryptocurrencies resistant to central control and manipulation.
Cryptocurrencies exist as entries in a blockchain and can be transferred between users without the need for intermediaries, such as banks. Transactions are secured through cryptographic principles, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. Additionally, many cryptocurrencies feature mechanisms such as proof of work or proof of stake to validate transactions and secure the network.
The most recognized cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, created in 2009, but thousands of other cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Ripple, and Litecoin, exist, each with unique features and purposes. Cryptocurrencies can be used for various applications, including online transactions, investments, remittances, and as a means to raise funds through initial coin offerings (ICOs). The increasing adoption and market growth of cryptocurrencies have sparked significant interest and innovation in the financial technology space, although they also pose regulatory and security challenges.
