Texas
Texas is a state located in the south-central region of the United States. It is the second largest state by both area and population. Texas is known for its diverse geography, which includes deserts, forests, and coastlines, and a variety of climates ranging from arid to humid. The state has a rich cultural heritage influenced by Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and Anglo-American traditions. Texas is often recognized for its significant contributions to the oil industry, agriculture, and technology. The capital city is Austin, while Houston is the largest city. The state is also famous for its music, cuisine (notably barbecue and Tex-Mex), and a strong sense of regional pride and identity often referred to as “Texan.” Texas was an independent republic before joining the United States in 1845.
